About

Orna Oriyan, Ph.D. in Art, works in the field of visual arts as an interdisciplinary artist and researcher.
She lectures at the Kibbutzim College of Education, specializing in creative education and feminist art.

She has published five books:

  • Your Body’s Blood — her doctoral research on abject feminine art (Resling, 2013)

  • Tati the Doll — a children’s book (Lavi P. Enterprise, 2014)

  • Ram and the Great Buffalo — a children’s book (Zemora, 2018)

  • Her Cup of Tea — a research and theory book (Pardes, 2020)

  • Inner-Outer Journey — a scholarly book (Magnes, 2023)

She completed her postdoctoral studies at Ben-Gurion University (Elishar Institute) on the topic of shamanism — currently in the process of publication with Pardes.

Oriyan also serves as a group facilitator integrating the arts for diverse populations. In her unique workshops, participants are invited to undergo an emotional process — connecting with themselves and processing their feelings through art and artistic materials.

The connection between material and emotion offers an opportunity for empowerment — for expanding the boundaries and perspective of the “self.”
